Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Billing Representative to join our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and claims denial management. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate reimbursement and maintaining the financial health of our organization. Duties
- Accurately post office and professional service charges into the practice management system.
- Process and reconcile insurance and patient payment postings in a timely manner.
- Review, investigate, and resolve claim denials and payment discrepancies.
- Conduct insurance follow-up on unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims.
- Work accounts receivable (AR) aging reports to ensure timely collections.
- Identify billing trends and recommend corrective actions to reduce denials.
- ·Verify claim accuracy and ensure compliance with payer guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with insurance carriers, patients, and internal staff regarding billing issues.
- Maintain documentation of billing activities and follow-up efforts.
- Assist with month-end reporting and revenue cycle performance initiatives.
Experience
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Proven experience with:
o Payment posting and reconciliation
o Accounts receivable follow-up
o Insurance claim denial management and appeals
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding principles.
- Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid payer requirements.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management billing clearinghouse systems (Eclinical works and Gateway Trizetto).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or related coding certification preferred.
Experience working in physician practices, specialty clinics, or healthcare revenue cycle environments is a MUST. Cardiology experience is a PLUS.
