About the Company
We are an established international consumer-products group with a portfolio of branded, technically differentiated products sold through Amazon, major retailers, specialist partners and digital marketplaces.
Digital commerce is an important part of the company’s growth strategy. We are investing in the capability, technology, data and operating discipline required to scale our Amazon and marketplace business profitably while improving the customer experience across every digital touchpoint.
The Role
We are looking for a commercially driven, analytical and hands-on Amazon specialist to lead the performance and development of our US Amazon and marketplace business.
This is an Amazon trading role - not a general digital marketing, SEO or DTC position. The successful candidate must have direct experience across both Vendor Central and Seller Central, personally managing Amazon advertising campaigns and using Pacvue or a comparable campaign-management platform.
The role owns channel growth, profitability, advertising effectiveness, availability, digital-shelf execution, forecasting and operational performance across Amazon 1P, Amazon 3P and assigned US marketplaces.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Performance and Planning
- Own the annual Amazon and marketplace business plan, including revenue, contribution, advertising and promotional budgets.
- Build monthly and annual forecasts using sales history, seasonality, promotions, traffic, conversion, advertising and inventory availability.
- Lead weekly trading reviews, monthly forecasts and quarterly business reviews, clearly presenting risks, opportunities and recommended actions.
- Evaluate assortment, pricing, promotions, advertising and marketplace expansion using demand, competitor activity and product-level economics.
Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central
- Own day-to-day performance across Amazon 1P and 3P, including sales, purchase orders, availability, pricing, promotions, Buy Box and profitability.
- Manage Vendor Central operations, including item setup, catalog changes, suppressed ASINs, shortages, deductions, chargebacks, returns, co-op and other claims.
- Manage Seller Central directly and/or through appointed partners, covering catalog quality, pricing, inventory, account health, customer feedback and returns.
- Manage FBA, FBM and other fulfillment models, including inbound inventory, stranded stock, aged inventory and stockout risk.
- Maintain clear governance between the 1P and 3P businesses and address conflicts involving Amazon Retail, distributors and marketplace sellers.
- Partner with Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Customer Service and Finance to improve fill rate, on-time delivery, availability and cost to serve.
Amazon Advertising and Retail Media
- Own Amazon Sponsored Ads/AMS and DSP budgets, allocating investment by brand, category, campaign, product and 1P or 3P model.
- Personally build, launch and optimize Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display campaigns.
- Use Pacvue or an equivalent platform to manage bids, budgets, placements, keywords, negative keywords, dayparting and automated rules.
- Control daily and monthly pacing, reallocating spend based on commercial return, inventory, Buy Box ownership, pricing, conversion and profitability.
- Monitor ROAS, ACOS, TACoS, CPC, click-through rate, conversion, attributed sales and paid versus organic performance.
- Challenge automated recommendations and external agencies while retaining internal ownership of strategy, budgets, campaign data and results.
Marketplaces, Digital Shelf and Product Launches
- Own commercial performance across assigned US marketplace and retailer.com accounts, including wholesale, marketplace, drop-ship and retailer-owned models.
- Manage product setup, content, pricing, promotions, inventory, service levels, deductions and listing compliance.
- Set digital-shelf standards for titles, descriptions, attributes, technical information, imagery, video, A+ Content and brand-store assets.
- Use search data, reviews, questions, competitor activity and return reasons to improve content, conversion and customer experience.
- Lead eCommerce readiness for new products and recommend assortment additions, rationalization, bundles or digital-specific products.
Essential Experience and Capabilities
- At least five years of progressive eCommerce, digital marketplace or online retail experience, including three years of direct responsibility for a meaningful Amazon business.
- Experience working for a branded consumer-products company, manufacturer or retailer - not solely within an agency environment.
- Strong hands-on experience across both Amazon Vendor Central and Seller Central.
- Proven ability to personally build, manage and optimize Amazon Sponsored Ads campaigns and own Sponsored Ads/AMS and DSP budgets.
- Advanced experience with Pacvue, CommerceIQ, Skai, Perpetua, Quartile, Teikametrics or a comparable campaign-management platform.
- Experience with campaign automation, bid rules, budget pacing, dayparting, keyword management and performance reporting.
- Experience managing other major US marketplace or retailer.com accounts.
- Strong understanding of revenue, margin, pricing, advertising, availability, forecasting and cost-to-serve drivers.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and practical SQL proficiency across multiple datasets.
- Strong commercial judgment, communication skills and experience managing agencies and cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in home and garden, outdoor living, pet, hardware, electrical or another technical and seasonal consumer-products category.
- Experience managing multiple brands and FBA, FBM, drop-ship and wholesale eCommerce models.
- Familiarity with Amazon Brand Registry, Brand Analytics, A+ Content, Amazon Stores, Amazon Marketing Cloud and Amazon Marketing Stream.
- Experience with SmartScout, Helium 10, Power BI, PIM, DAM, ERP or product-feed management systems.
- Relevant experience within Amazon Vendor Management, Amazon Ads, Marketplace or related commercial teams, supported by hands-on platform, commercial or advertising experience.
- Amazon Ads, Amazon retail or Pacvue certification; bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working within an international or matrix organization.
