Job Title: Infrastructure and Support Specialist
Reports To: Owner of Advanced Urgent Care
FLSA Status: Non- Exempt
Summary: We are seeking a hands-on Infrastructure and Support Specialist with strong Athena EMR experience to independently lead and manage our internal IT operations. This role will serve as the primary and central point of contact for all IT needs across our clinics and management organization, ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our technology systems.
You’ll be the go-to person for diagnosing and resolving issues across our infrastructure, including networks, phone systems, hardware, software platforms, and particularly our Athena EMR system. As the primary IT resource, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day IT operations, troubleshooting, system support, and ongoing improvements. Your leadership and technical expertise will directly impact the efficiency of our providers and support teams in delivering quality patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- IT Leadership & Oversight
- Act as the primary liaison between IT and clinical/administrative leadership.
- Coordinate IT needs across 7 clinic locations and central management office.
- System & Network Management
- Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot infrastructure including servers, networks, and telephony systems.
- Identify, resolve, or escalate system performance and reliability issues.
- Ensure appropriate cybersecurity protocols and data privacy measures are in place.
- EMR Optimization & Support
- Serve as the internal expert on Athena EMR configuration and optimization.
- Work directly with clinic leadership and staff to ensure EMR workflows are efficient and aligned with operational needs.
- Support Athena settings, user access, permissions, templates, and updates.
- Helpdesk & Technical Support
- Respond to technical issues from staff, including computer hardware, software, printer, or phone problems.
- Oversee helpdesk operations and ensure timely resolution of support tickets.
- Vendor & Project Coordination
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors for IT services and support.
- Lead or assist with IT-related projects including software rollouts, upgrades, and new clinic setups.
Qualifications:
- Proven hands-on experience with Athena EMR, including system settings, templates, user management, and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments, preferably urgent or primary care settings.
- Experience with VoIP phone systems and network troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience managing a small IT team in a multi-site healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, healthcare IT standards, and best practices.
- Project management experience.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
