Molding Carpenter Job Description
General
The carpenter, mold builder is highly skilled in the carpentry trade. The role requires building precision molds and patterns for producing architectural precast elements on construction projects in varying sectors. Molding carpenters will use their knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques to bring design concepts to reality. The position requires and extremely organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented individual to work a part of a team.
Schedule and Planning
· Review overall scope of projects
· Understand placement and function of stone elements to be built
· Plan mold construction based on project schedule
· Plan molds to accommodate multiple stones of common profile
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Read and understand shop drawings of varying complexity levels
· Provide feedback to design and drafting on manufacturability of designs
· Build molds ranging from simple boxes to complex ornate designs
· Monitor condition of molds in production and repair as needed
· Safely and effectively use woodworking tools and equipment
· Inspect and provide records that design requirements are produced
· Communicate project status and schedule with supervisor
· Maintenance of carpentry equipment as needed

· Periodically review produced materials to ensure that all design criteria are met
· Advise Quality and Management when non-conforming products are found
· Take corrective action to improve issues identified
Education / Training
· High School or Equivalent
· Technical or trade school in related field
· Strong mathematical skills
· CNC router certification or experience a plus
Experience
· Finish carpentry, millwork, or cabinetry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
