The Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency (KRESA) is a critical part of Michigan’s education system serving the Greater Kalamazoo region and provides specialized services to schools and communities and optimizes resources by centralizing innovative programs and services. We partner with school districts and the broader community to offer essential programs including early childhood education, special education, career learning, and educator development, ensuring that learners of all ages receive the support they need.
We are currently seeking an Administrative Assistant at the KRESA Career Connect Campus in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The essential responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Support KRESA Culture and Belonging principles, prioritizing equitable opportunity, program representation and support for all students

Provide comprehensive administrative support for campus operations by managing purchasing processes, vendor coordination, budget tracking, and financial documentation, while ensuring compliance with district procedures and timely processing of requisitions to support instructional needs.

Support Human Resources functions by managing the full hiring process—from applicant tracking through selection, hire, and onboarding—while maintaining accurate staff records, coordinating time-off reconciliation, and managing key organizational documents (e.g., student handbook, staff playbook) to ensure all records are current, compliant, and easily accessible.

Prepare documents (correspondence, forms, reports, etc.) to communicate information to school and district personnel, parents, students, and community

Maintain records such as but not limited to scheduling, discipline, attendance, etc. and adhere to confidentiality policies

Facilitate communication among the building leadership, students, parents, staff, and districts using skills such as record keeping, filing, note taking, and word processing.

Answer, screen, or forward phone calls providing information or taking messages.

Respond to all clientele in a cordial, courteous matter.

Provide program reports on a regular basis, assist with the end of the year reporting, state audits, and statistical information as requested.

Schedule and confirm appointments, use of meeting spaces, and ability to arrange travel, housing accommodations, meals, etc.

Maintain a schedule of appointments for the building leadership

Maintain school calendar of events

Utilize PowerSchool student information system to maintain and update current and accurate records

Other duties as assigned by teachers and/or administration.
Qualified candidates will have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six months related experience and/or training. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and experience in customer service.
This is a 12 month calendar position in job grade 12 with an annual rate of pay between $37,437 and $53,411.
