Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and dignity
- Support medication administration and monitor vital signs to maintain health and safety standards
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts and assist with transfers to promote resident independence and prevent injury
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary plans and assist with feeding when necessary
- Engage residents in social activities, behavioral management strategies, and recreational programs to enhance well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through routine cleaning tasks and ensure a safe environment by adhering to health protocols
- Document care activities accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and report any changes or concerns promptly to supervisors
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, geriatrics, and behavioral management techniques
- Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and manual handling procedures
- Familiarity with home & community care environments and long-term care practices
- Ability to work effectively with individuals who have developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized support
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications are required; additional certifications such as Hoyer lift training or medication administration are a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving; ability to handle heavy lifting safely when needed
