Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations, including mental status examinations and diagnostic assessments utilizing EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
- Prescribe and manage medications within scope of practice, adhering to DEA regulations and clinical guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care plans.
- Provide patient education on medication management, behavioral health strategies, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to deliver remote psychiatric services, ensuring accessibility for all patients.
- Document clinical encounters accurately in electronic health records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Participate in case management activities, discharge planning, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with current state licensure.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations including children, geriatrics, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athenahealth or Cerner; telehealth experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology, behavioral health assessment techniques, and diagnostic evaluation tools like ICD-10 coding.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams in settings such as hospitals, clinics, or outpatient facilities.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols including injection administration and IV infusion when applicable.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on trauma-informed care and patient-centered approaches.
