Job Summary
The PLC Technician is responsible for installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining PLC-controlled automation systems in automotive manufacturing environments. The role involves working with industrial robots, drives, sensors, and safety systems to ensure reliable production operations and optimized cycle times.
Responsibilities
- Download and update PLC programs to automation equipment.
- Configure hardware for PROFINET devices, drives, and field I/O modules
- Perform I/O checks and signal verification during commissioning
- Conduct manual operation tests for automated stations
- Verify robot work zones and safety zones for Fanuc robots
- Perform automatic debugging and system testing with robots and peripheral equipment
- Optimize cycle time and improve system throughput
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment (I/O, sensors, drives, safety circuits)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and OEM documentation.
- Support installation, relocation, and commissioning of new automation equipment
- Support production processes including Spot Welding, Sealing/Dispensing, and Stud Welding
Technologies You’ll Be Exposed To
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and ladder logic
- Safety systems
- Electrical panels, controls wiring, and machine troubleshooting
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field (Associate Degree preferred)
Required Qualifications
- 1 - 2 years of hands-on experience with automated or PLC-controlled equipment
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting using Siemens TIA Portal
- Experience working with industrial robots such as Fanuc
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as PROFINET
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and ladder logic
- Experience troubleshooting automation systems including sensors, drives, and safety circuits
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under production pressure
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and safety PLC systems
- Experience in automotive manufacturing environments
- Strong communicator who can explain technical issues clearly
- Experience with robot integration and automated production lines
- Commissioning experience for new production equipment

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
