This position will be located at Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality, Air Pollution Control Program and will be located at 1659 East Elm St., Jefferson City, Missouri.
Responsibilities - What you’ll do
- Lead, organize, plan, and direct the work of a 4 environmental program assistants, analysts, and specialists with varying levels of skills and experience. This includes the assignment of work, providing rulemaking guidance, review of work products, and ensuring rulemakings and special projects are properly and consistently managed and deadlines are met and tracked.
- Manage and coordinate the development of state rulemakings and submittal packages to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This involves collaborating with regulated industry, EPA, and other state and local air agencies on requirements included in state rules.
- Ensure the timely creation, completeness, and technical accuracy of rulemaking reports, summaries, and other documentation.
- Coordinate with appropriate staff throughout the program on preparation of technical inputs needed to support proposed rulemakings, as well as on issues/outcomes that could impact other parts of the program.
- Conduct supervisory personnel duties including interviewing, hiring, completion of performance appraisals, mentoring team members and contributing to their professional development, holding regular Engage meetings with team members, arranging for staff training, and approving time sheets, leave requests and work assignments.
- Participate in Missouri Air Conservation Commission meetings as required.

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
- Bachelor’s degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience (Substitutions may be allowed)
- Training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma as well as completion of Missouri Way, Leadership Academy, and similar programs is preferred.
