Store Manager in Training (Lead Sales Associate)

About the Role
Are you a high-energy team player looking to step into retail management? We’re looking for a sharp, proactive Lead Sales Associate to join our Bethany UPS Store team on a clear, direct path to becoming a Store Manager.
In this role, you won't just stand behind a counter. You will learn the nuts and bolts of running a high-volume retail center—from customer service and custom print/packing solutions to team scheduling, inventory, and shift leadership. We provide hands-on, comprehensive training to prepare you to manage day-to-day operations and lead our team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead shift operations: Set the tone for high-quality customer service, keep the floor moving efficiently during rush hours, and delegate daily tasks.
- Master store services: Become an expert in UPS systems, packing solutions, print production, corporate drop-offs, and mailbox management.
- Execute custom print & design work: Produce customer print orders, handle basic graphics software setup (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat), and operate digital print production equipment.
- Support leadership & team growth: Help recruit, interview, and train new team members on sales techniques, POS systems, and operational standards.
- Maintain operational excellence: Handle POS transactions, opening/closing procedures, cash reporting, and basic inventory tracking/replenishment.
- Problem-solve on the fly: Turn tricky customer interactions into loyal, long-term relationships through quick thinking and great communication.
What We’re Looking For
- Retail or Lead Experience: 1+ years in a shift supervisor, lead associate, or assistant manager role within retail or customer service.
- Proven Reliability: Excellent organizational skills, cash-handling accuracy, and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong Communication: Comfortable mentoring teammates, running shift check-ins, and engaging directly with our local community.
- Growth Mindset: High ambition to step up, take ownership of store results, and move directly into a Store Manager role.
Bonus Points
- Print & Design Software Expertise: Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), Canva, digital print prepress workflows/prior experience operating commercial digital print and production finishing hardware.
- Active Commissioned Notary Public in the state of Oregon (or willingness to become commissioned).
- Bilingual/multilingual abilities.

Pay: $18.00 - $26.00 per hour
