Calling all Youth Volleyball Coaches!
Build Skills and Confidence one serve at a time coaching our female middle school athletes with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego. We are looking for dedicated and energetic volleyball coaches to join our team and help young female athletes grow their skills, confidence and love for the game.
$22-$25/hour: Part-time: Day shift

Required Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Required Times: Practices: 3:00pm-4:00pm. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays at either 4pm or 5pm after the first few weeks of practices.
Season Dates: August 25 to October 15, 2026. Your coaching may continue, though, to as late as October 22, 2026 if your team(s) play in the postseason.
Plus a mandatory preseason meeting for all new coaches in late August.

- Carmel Valley Middle School: 3800 Mykonos Lane, San Diego, CA 92130
- Earl Warren Middle School: 155 Stevens Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075
- Oak Crest Middle School: 675 Balour Drive, Encinitas, CA 92024
- Pacific Trails Middle School: 5975 Village Center Loop, San Diego, CA 92130 *Practices and games held on respective school campuses
Full Job Description:
This is a part-time, after-school coaching opportunity - perfect for those passionate about working with youth and available in the afternoons. Coaches are needed at 3 different North County Middle Schools. We're flexible on locations, just be sure to let know your school preference in the application questions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and supervise games and practices.
· Inform players/parents about games, practices, events, cancellations, and make-ups.· Teach the athletes the fundamentals of the sport.
· Promote the values of responsibility and commitment to the program.
· Provide a safe and fun environment for the children.
· Learn and follow league rules, policies, and procedures.
· Sports are competitive and play time is not guaranteed, but when possible, attempt to give each player playing time with fairness
· Put the wellbeing of players ahead of your desire to win.
· Assume responsibility for equipment that has been provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego, including uniforms.
· Inform supervisor(s) of any problems that may occur.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience - The understanding and knowledge of volleyball is required. Previous experience in coaching preferred, but not required.
- In order to run a smooth season, and be the right kind of coach for the players, these attributes are critical to the success of this position:
- Calm and patient demeanor with others, especially with youth.
- Punctuality- being on time.
- Be organized and dependable.
- Be enthusiastic.
- Must have or be available to obtain CPR and First Aid certification (will train).
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and criminal background clearance.
- Complete the mandatory online training. It's fully online, flexible and you will be paid for your time. This training equips you with essential skills to lead youth athletes effectively, safely and confidently. Get Paid to Grow!
