Broward County Transit has contracted Transportation America to provide a door to door, shared ride transportation service for an A.D.A. subsidized program called S.T.S. (Special Transportation Service). The ridership consists of Broward County elderly and the disabled who are unable to utilize Metrobus.
Transportation America / STS hiring criteria:
- Must be available to work 7 days of the week and 12 hours per shift (as needed)
- Clean criminal background
- No more than 3 points on a valid Florida driver’s license
- Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years
- Working knowledge of the English language
- Valid Broward County Hack License
- Moderate geographical knowledge of Broward County
- Must pass a drug and alcohol analysis
- Some lifting required (35 lbs. or less)
- Minimum of 6 months of Commercial driving experience is preferable
