A growing professional services organization in Washington, DC is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its finance team. This Accounting Manager role reports directly to the Controller and offers broad exposure to accounting operations, financial reporting, process improvement, and strategic due diligence initiatives. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting company growth while helping manage core accounting functions in a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid, 3 days onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Salary: $110,000-$125,000 + bonus potential

Lead month-end close activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting as the Accounting Manager.

Manage billing, invoicing, accounts receivable, and support accounts payable processes.

Partner with the Controller on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow monitoring, and financial analysis.

Support due diligence requests, revenue reporting, contract reviews, and audit-related projects.

Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

Mentor junior accounting staff and help improve accounting processes as the organization scales.

Utilize QuickBooks Online, Excel, Concur, and Expensify to drive efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience.

CPA preferred.

Professional services, consulting, communications, lobbying, or similar industry experience preferred.

Strong experience with general ledger, reconciliations, financial statements, and month-end close.

Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with QuickBooks Online.

Previous mentoring, supervisory, or team lead experience is a plus.
