Dental Assistant
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment
- Take and record patients' vital signs
- Update and maintain patients' medical records
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions
- Perform dental radiographs and other medical imaging as directed by the dentist
- Follow aseptic techniques to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Assist with dental lab work, including pouring models and fabricating temporary crowns
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Current certification in dental assisting (CDA) preferred
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar practice management software systems
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements
- Strong organizational skills for managing patient records and scheduling appointments
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, dentists, and other team members
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced dental office environment
