JOB TITLE
- Flexo/Digital Press Operator - Swing Shift.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and frequently is required to walk
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills are required. UV ink experience. Good communication skills. Must be detail and quality oriented.
SUMMARY
- We are looking for a person to help us with press operation, to be responsible for printing custom labels and tags to customer specifications and assure quality is maintained.
- Flexo/Digital press equipment with UV and or water-based inks. This is a technical and skilled position, and a candidate must have Flexo/Digital printing experience to be considered (3+ years preferred). An ideal candidate is someone mechanically inclined with solid press operator experience, strong math skills, good attendance and a desire to grow their career with us. We are a small business, so we all wear several hats to make sure that the job gets done
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reads job order and loads dies into press, installs print cylinder on shaft and installs print cylinder in press.
- Fills ink pans, screens and pumps with prescribed inks.
- Starts press, adjusting speed and alignment of stock to the print cylinder as necessary.
- Engages print cylinders; adjusts printing impression as necessary, places print cylinders lead-to- lead and runs down approval strip.
- Cuts sample of approval strip from printed roll, inspects for imperfections such as print to print out of register, print to die out of register, missing impression, ink starvation or color adjustments, making adjustments as necessary.
- Cleans plates, print cylinders and dies as needed, performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance as required.
- Mixes inks to produce and maintain desired colors and viscosity.
- Learn, understand and utilize the press software.
- Graphic Design background is a plus.

SCHEDULE
- This is a swing shift position.
- 8-hour shift with overtime throughout the year.
- Monday through Friday with occasional weekend availability.
- This role will work from our Yakima office.
