Provides EMT-level emergency and non-emergency medical care across all age groups in the pre-hospital environment; supports paramedics and ensures safe patient transport.
- Current NREMT EMT certification; MSDH EMT preferred.
- Current MSDL; MSDH EMS Driver preferred.
- CPR certification; FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800 preferred.
- Positive team attitude; prior EMS experience preferred.
- Provide EMT-level care to patients.
- Maintain positive working relationships with patients, families, and EMS staff.
- Prioritize daily work to maximize productivity.
- Provide guidance to EMS drivers and students.
- Complete accurate documentation for all calls.
- Ensure equipment readiness and safe operation.
- Walk and work on varied terrain and in confined spaces.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull 75–100 lbs with or without assistance.
- Repeated transfers of patients and heavy equipment.
- Maintain stamina for prolonged standing, kneeling, twisting, and awkward postures.
- Fine-motor control for emergency/transport equipment; adequate vision and hearing.
