Girl Scouts Louisiana East is seeking a high-energy, goal-driven Membership Specialist to help grow Girl Scouts in the Shreveport area.
This role is a great fit for someone with a sales, recruiting, outreach, or customer service background who enjoys meeting goals, working in a fast-paced environment, and connecting with families, volunteers, schools, and community partners. Our team is energetic, supportive, and enjoys engaging with the community.
The Membership Specialist will generate interest in Girl Scouts, follow up with leads, help girls and adults join, and support new volunteers through the onboarding process.
Job Overview - Duties
- Recruit girls and adult volunteers through phone, email, in-person outreach, and community connections.
- Follow up quickly with leads and guide families through the joining process.
- Build relationships with schools, community organizations, and local partners.
- Meet individual membership growth goals.
- Track and input data re: outreach, leads, and progress using Salesforce and other tools.
- Provide helpful membership support and basic volunteer onboarding guidance.
- Use data and reports to identify outreach opportunities and underserved communities.

- Sales-minded, goal-driven, and self-motivated.
- Organized and able to manage a high volume of work.
- A strong communicator with excellent follow-through.
- Comfortable working throughout the Shreveport community.
- Familiar with nonprofit, youth, community, or volunteer-based programs is a plus.
- Positive, energetic, and motivated by mission-driven work.
Minimum Requirements
- Associate's degree in marketing, public relations, communication, or a related field.
- Experience in sales, lead generation, recruitment, marketing, or a related field.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Membership in Girl Scouts (upon hire).
- Access to reliable internet and an effective home workspace.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that travel to event locations and includes evenings, weekends and overtime if required.
Required Skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
- Emotional maturity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong listening and communication skills with diverse individuals and groups.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and positive, cooperative attitude.
- Effective and diplomatic problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments and needs.
