Electrician
Job Type: Full-Time (40–45 hours/week, with potential for additional hours as project needs require)
Location: Multiple construction sites
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Electrician to perform and oversee electrical installation, maintenance, and repair work across multiple active construction sites. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on field experience, supplies their own tools, and is comfortable working in a physically demanding outdoor/indoor construction environment in all weather conditions. This role requires daily travel between job sites, so reliable transportation is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, fixtures, and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
- Plan and lay out electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and codes
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform diagnostic testing
- Ensure all work is compliant with OSHA safety standards and site-specific safety protocols
- Coordinate with project managers, general contractors, and other trades on-site
- Supervise and/or mentor apprentices and journeyman electricians as needed
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with codes and specifications
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time logs
- Travel independently between multiple job sites throughout the workday/week as assigned
- Manage own schedule and route to ensure timely arrival at each site
- Transport own tools and equipment between sites as needed
- Ensure job site is kept clean, organized, and safe
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial/industrial/residential construction electrical work
- Must supply own hand tools and standard trade tools
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation required — this role involves regular travel between multiple construction sites
- Strong knowledge of NEC codes and local electrical/building codes
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, climb ladders, work at heights, and stand/kneel for extended periods
- OSHA 10/30 certification (preferred or required — specify)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Schedule:
- 40–45 hours/week standard
- Additional hours/overtime may be required based on project timelines and deadlines
- Travel time between sites may be factored into daily schedule/hours
- Must be flexible with scheduling as construction demands can vary
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions
- Ability to work indoors in unfinished/under-construction spaces
- Physical stamina for lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for long periods
Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
Experience:
- Welding: 5 years (Preferred)
