Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure readiness for cooking and plating
- Assist with cooking tasks such as assembling salads, sandwiches, and side dishes under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station, adhering to food safety standards at all times
- Support the kitchen team with food handling, storage, and inventory management to minimize waste
- Follow menu planning guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in meal preparation
- Handle food with care during preparation and serving, maintaining proper hygiene practices
- Assist in catering setups and special event preparations as needed to support overall food service operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is highly desirable
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, and knife handling with attention to safety
- Knowledge of food industry standards including food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning and meal assembly in restaurant or catering settings is a plus
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including food service and food industry best practices
- Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail in food presentation and cleanliness
