Job Summary
The Activity Supervisor assists the Activity Director in planning, organizing, and leading therapeutic recreational activities for adult medical day care participants. Responsibilities include setting up activity areas, encouraging member participation, assisting members with activities as needed, maintaining activity supplies, documenting attendance, and ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment. The Activity Aide works closely with the interdisciplinary team to promote participants' physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being while treating all members with dignity and respect.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement diverse recreational activities tailored to different age groups, including outdoor adventures, arts and crafts, team sports, and educational games.
- Supervise children and youth during all activities to ensure safety, engagement, and positive behavior management.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to first aid protocols, CPR procedures, AED operation, and emergency response plans.
- Foster an inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation, respect, and teamwork among all participants.
- Collaborate with team members to develop program schedules that align with youth development goals and community needs.
- Monitor activity areas for hazards or safety concerns; conduct regular safety checks and enforce rules consistently.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding program updates or incidents as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
