Clinical Consultant (Master’s Level) Job Description
(Masters-Level, BBS Registered, Part-Time / Hybrid)

Position Summary
The Clinical Consultant is a clinical leader in TPF’s multidisciplinary Support Squad model. This role provides:
- Clinical oversight to Lead Care Managers (LCMs)
- Quality assurance of assessments and care plans
- Crisis response and short-term clinical intervention
- Intern supervision and documentation oversight
This position ensures that all clinical services—across ECM and Healthcare Access—are delivered safely, ethically, and in alignment with TPF’s trauma-informed, culturally grounded approach.
Core Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight & Support Squad Leadership
- Serve as the primary clinical support for assigned LCMs and their caseloads
- Provide guidance on risk, mental health concerns, care coordination, and service navigation
- Maintain open communication with Support Squad members (CHWs, Medical VAs, interns)
Client Care Team Meetings
- Facilitate twice-monthly Client Care Team Meetings
- Review cases presented by LCMs
- Provide recommendations, identify risks, and support high-quality care planning
- Ensure alignment with CalAIM and DHCS requirements
Short-Term Clinical Intervention
- Provide brief clinical support to ECM or Healthcare Access clients as needed
- Conduct safety assessments, crisis evaluations, and safety planning
- Coordinate warm handoffs to appropriate long-term or higher-level care providers
- Support a small caseload of short-term clients in Healthcare Access program
Quality Assurance & Documentation Review
- Review and sign off on Comprehensive Assessments and Care Plans
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, SMART goals, and trauma-informed alignment
- Support LCMs in documentation upgrades and quality improvement
Supervision of Interns
- Provide weekly supervision to BBS-registered interns (ASW/AMFT/APCC) and Masters-level trainees
- Track clinical hours, evaluations, and BBS documentation
- Serve as liaison to university partners as a Field Instructor (preferred)
Collaboration & Program Support
- Work alongside Programs Administrative Manager & Clinical Programs Consultant
- Participate in weekly team meetings, case reviews, and internal trainingsSupport program development and fidelity to TPF clinical and cultural models
In-Person & Field Responsibilities
- Work onsite in South LA 2 days per week minimum
- Provide occasional field-based support during crises, wellness labs, or client engagement activities
Qualifications
Required
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, Professional Counseling, or related field
- Active BBS registration (ASW, AMFT, APCC)
- Experience in clinical consultation, case review, or community behavioral health
- Training in risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis response
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Able to work in South LA for in-person responsibilities
Preferred
- Experience as a Field Instructor or providing supervision to interns
- Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred)
- Familiarity with CalAIM, ECM, Medi-Cal populations, or integrated care models
- Experience with EXYM, LANES, or similar platforms
