INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST I – INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION / CORE SERVICES BRANCH / SACRAMENTO
The reporting location for this position is the Information Technology Division in Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the direction of the Information Technology Manager I.
California State Parks is seeking a motivated Information Technology Specialist I (Network Administrator) to support the mission-critical network infrastructure that keeps parks across the state connected. As part of the IT Services Division – Infrastructure Services / Network Engineering Unit, you will help maintain and support the Department’s enterprise network environment. This position will assist with network operations, device configuration, monitoring tools, and incident response efforts across park districts, field units, and remote locations
- Administer network consoles and monitoring platforms (Juniper, Mist, Meraki, UISP, Device42, WUG).
- Configure and deploy network devices following departmental standards.
- Support security camera servers and apply necessary hardware/software patches.
- Monitor systems to identify outages and performance issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting and escalate issues appropriately.
- Maintain accurate documentation, diagrams, records, and inventory.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and system updates.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Travel is required. Possession of a Class C Drivers License is required.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
This position is designated as telework eligible- office centered.
