Job Summary
We are seeking reliable Machine Operators to join our rope manufacturing team on the second shift. This role is responsible for operating specialized production machinery while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Shift & Training Schedule
- Onboarding (Weeks 1–4): Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (First Shift)
- Regular Schedule (Week 5+): Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (Second Shift)
Note: Onboarding duration is approximate and based on individual learning pace.
Compensation
- Competitive base hourly rate.
- 5% shift differential applied to all standard second-shift hours.
Duties and responsibilities
· Operate and monitor various machines in the plant, including but not limited to looms, roping machines, print, extruders and packaging machines
· Set up machines according to specific instructions, ensuring that all tools and materials are properly aligned and ready for use
· Monitor machines during production runs, making adjustments as needed to ensure quality and efficiency
· Follow job steps and work orders accurately
· Identify, troubleshoot and correct any minor issues with machines as required
· Submit a maintenance work order, if machine issues cannot be resolved
· Accurately report production and scrap quantifies into the ERP system with reason notation
· Complete all other advised documentation as applicable to your work cell including, but not limited to: shift change sheets and quality records
· Communicate effectively with Management and Maintenance, and during shift changeovers to ensure the clear and timely exchange of information and resolution of issues
· Follow all safety protocols and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
· Participate in training and development activities as needed to improve skills and knowledge
· Assist in other areas as required (i.e., sort, pack, crate and package materials and products)
· Other related duties as assigned
Skills and qualifications
· High school diploma or GED required
· Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment preferred
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Able to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment performing repetitive tasks
· Must be able to work well as part of a team
· Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills
· Possess a desire to continuously learn new things
· Strong attention to detail
· Basic computer skills
· Physical Requirements:
o Must be capable of heavy lifting - Up to 50 lbs.
o Strong physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination
o Able to stand for extended periods of time.
o Ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (machinery, alarms, etc.)
o Near Visual Acuity – Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., working with small objects or reading small print), including use of computers.
