Paralegal / Legal Assistant
Our law firm is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our personal injury practice. This is is a full time, in person position. Hours of work will be 8:30am-5:00pm This position will focus primarily on pre-suit personal injury matters, with some litigation support as needed.
The ideal candidate is someone who is exceptionally organized, communicates professionally and effectively, and has strong attention to detail. This role requires frequent communication with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and attorneys, so the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and compassionately is essential.
Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and assist clients with questions and requests
- Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, insurance adjusters, medical offices, and other parties
- Assist attorneys with the day-to-day management of personal injury cases, primarily during the pre-suit phase
- Draft and prepare demand letters and supporting documentation
- Request, organize, and maintain medical records and bills
- Follow up with medical providers and other third parties to obtain outstanding records and documentation
- Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files
- Track case deadlines, outstanding items, and follow-up tasks
- Prepare settlement/closing statements and assist with settlement-related tasks
- Provide administrative and clerical support to attorneys
- Assist with litigation-related tasks and case preparation as needed
- Perform other duties and support tasks necessary to assist attorneys in fulfilling their obligations to clients
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or in a similar legal support role preferred
- Personal injury experience is a plus
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, courteous, and compassionate communication with clients
- Ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team
- Strong follow-through and ability to stay on top of outstanding tasks
- Proficiency with standard office and computer software
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information professionally

Experience in personal injury law is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills.
You will receive two weeks paid vacation and one week paid sick leave.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
