Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as an Austin SSC Kids Soccer Coach - Tots, where you will inspire and energize young children through engaging soccer activities designed specifically for their developmental stage. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love for sports, promote physical activity, and support early childhood growth in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment. As a vital part of our coaching staff, you will lead energetic sessions that combine sports fundamentals with playful learning, helping children develop coordination, teamwork, and confidence from an early age.
Responsibilities
- Lead engaging and age-appropriate soccer activities tailored for tots, ensuring a fun and safe environment for all participants
- Plan and execute creative drills that promote basic motor skills, coordination, and social interaction
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship among young children
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and session updates.
- Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming atmosphere that motivates children to participate actively and build confidence
- Document attendance, participation levels, and any incidents during sessions to ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in sports, childcare, or educational settings; experience in teaching physical education is highly valued
- Demonstrated knowledge of soccer coaching techniques suitable for young children
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to manage behavior positively while maintaining a lively and energetic session flow
- Certification in first aid and CPR; AED operation training preferred but not required
- Background in sports-specific training instruction such as martial arts (Karate), basketball, climbing, or other physical disciplines is a plus
- Experience with team leadership or coaching roles within sports teams or health clubs is advantageous
- Passion for fostering children's development through active play and sports education
- Reliable with excellent organizational skills to manage sessions efficiently
- Saturday morning/afternoon availability is a must!
