Mountain Aging Partners (MAP) is looking for a caring, organized, and dependable Nutrition Coordinator to join our Adult Day Services team!
This is more than a kitchen position. As our Nutrition Coordinator, you will help create a welcoming, meaningful dining experience for adults who attend our program while ensuring their nutritional and dietary needs are met. You’ll have the opportunity to use your creativity through cooking and baking activities, special events, and other kitchen-based activities that encourage participant engagement and independence.
If you enjoy working with food and people, are organized and detail-oriented, and want your work to have a positive impact on the lives of others, we’d love to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietitian-approved menus and individual dietary needs.
- Create a welcoming, person-centered dining environment that feels like a café or home rather than an institution.
- Coordinate and support cooking, baking, and other kitchen-related activities that encourage participants to be involved and engaged.
- Help plan and coordinate food and nutrition needs for theme days, special events, and activities.
- Ensure special dietary needs and physician-directed diets are followed appropriately.
- Coordinate meal service and help ensure meals are served safely and on schedule.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting kitchen, dining area, and food storage areas.
- Monitor and document required food, refrigerator, water, dishwasher, and other temperatures.
- Complete required food service and nutrition documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain appropriate food service and sanitation practices in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Coordinate purchasing and inventory of food and nutrition-related supplies.
- Assist with maintaining appropriate participant-to-staff ratios and support the team when staffing needs arise.
- Participate in special events and other activities that support the Adult Day Services program.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the department and program.
What We’re Looking For
The right person will be:
- Compassionate and patient with a genuine interest in working with adults with cognitive and/or physical challenges.
- Person-centered, with a desire to help participants maintain independence and dignity.
- Positive and supportive, with a good attitude and willingness to be part of a team.
- Organized and dependable, with strong attention to detail.
- A strong communicator who can work effectively with participants, families, and team members.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to learn new skills and assist wherever needed.
- Comfortable responding appropriately to unexpected or emergency situations.
- Able to maintain a clean, safe, and organized food service environment.
- Comfortable using computers for documentation and other work-related tasks.
Why You’ll Love This Role
At MAP, you’ll have the opportunity to do more than prepare meals—you’ll help create meaningful daily experiences for those we serve.
From helping a participant participate in a cooking activity to creating a special meal for an event, your work will directly contribute to making our Adult Day Services program a welcoming and enjoyable place for our participants.
If you’re looking for a role where food, creativity, teamwork, and caring for others come together, we encourage you to apply!
