Bytefixx Technology Group is looking for a hands-on Computer Repair Technician to help diagnose, repair, refurbish, and prepare computers and electronics for resale.
We are looking for someone who enjoys troubleshooting hardware and software problems, working carefully with customer and company equipment, and finding practical solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose and repair desktop computers, laptops, Macs, and related electronics
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, performance, and connectivity issues
- Install and configure Windows, macOS, drivers, applications, and system updates
- Replace and upgrade components such as hard drives, SSDs, RAM, batteries, screens, power supplies, and other parts
- Test systems and components to identify failures and confirm repairs
- Perform operating system installations, system resets, malware removal, and software troubleshooting
- Securely wipe data from computers and storage devices according to established procedures
- Transfer, back up, and restore data when appropriate
- Prepare refurbished computers and electronics for resale
- Inspect, clean, label, and document incoming equipment
- Maintain accurate repair notes, test results, inventory records, and parts usage
- Identify parts and equipment needed to complete repairs
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and safe repair and warehouse area
- Communicate technical findings and repair recommendations clearly when customer interaction is required
- Assist with product listings, photography, packing, and shipping as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- Hands-on experience repairing and troubleshooting computers
- Comfortable working with both Windows and macOS
- Working knowledge of computer hardware, components, peripherals, and basic networking
- Ability to diagnose problems methodically rather than replacing parts by guesswork
- Strong attention to detail when handling equipment and data
- Ability to follow data-wiping, testing, and quality-control procedures
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage multiple repair projects
- Comfortable lifting and moving computer equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small operations team
CompTIA A+ certification, electronics repair experience, IT help-desk experience, or experience working in a computer repair or refurbishment environment is a plus. Equivalent hands-on experience is also valued.
This Position May Be a Good Fit If You
- Enjoy taking computers apart and figuring out why they are not working
- Can explain technical problems in a clear and understandable way
- Take pride in clean, dependable repairs
- Are comfortable learning new hardware, software, and repair processes
- Prefer hands-on technical work over a traditional retail sales position
