Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Medical Assistant to join our close-knit pediatric primary care office and help support the care of our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant will play an essential role in both clinical care and patient communication, including:
- Rooming patients and obtaining accurate vital signs (infants through adolescents)
- Triage phone calls and patient portal messages under provider guidance
- Administering vaccines and injections per protocol
- Performing in-office testing, including: blood draws (capillary and/or venipuncture, urine collection, and point-of-care testing
- Vision and hearing screening
- Communicating lab and test results to families as directed by providers
- Scheduling appointments, follow-ups, and referrals
- Assisting providers during exams and procedures
- Maintaining clean, stocked exam rooms and following infection-control standards
- Supporting a smooth clinic flow in a fast-paced pediatric environment
Qualifications
- Certified or registered Medical Assistant (preferred)
- Pediatric experience strongly preferred (or willingness to learn)
- Comfortable working with children of all ages and their families
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a small-office setting
- Experience with EHR systems (AthenaOne experience a plus)
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
