Duties
- Support the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to company policies.
- Lead and supervise retail staff, providing guidance on sales techniques, customer interactions, and product knowledge to maximize performance.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members to build a strong, motivated workforce.
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, conducting stock counts, and coordinating purchasing and merchandising activities.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, POS (Point of Sale) systems operation, and cashiering duties with accuracy and integrity.
- Support scheduling, shift management, and payroll processing to maintain optimal staffing levels and operational efficiency.
- Implement sales strategies through pricing adjustments, promotional displays, and merchandising initiatives to boost retail sales.
- Maintain organized records of sales data, inventory movements, and employee performance for reporting purposes.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication, leadership development, and ongoing training & development initiatives.
Experience
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles within the retail industry.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills with a track record of managing sales teams effectively.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations including inventory management, POS systems, cashiering, and merchandising.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued for diverse customer engagement.
- Experience with employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development to build high-performing teams.
- Familiarity with payroll processing, bookkeeping basics, budgeting, and operational management practices.
- Ability to handle negotiations with vendors or suppliers confidently while maintaining positive relationships.
- Prior experience in grocery or wireless sales environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, sales calculations, pricing adjustments, and inventory control are essential.
