Position Summary
United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church is seeking a dynamic, spiritually grounded, and highly organized leader to serve as Minister of Operations. This individual will function as the church’s Chief Operations leader, overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the church while ensuring alignment with the church’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
The Minister of Operations is a key member of the ministry team, working collaboratively with the Senior Pastor, ministerial staff, and ministry leaders to strengthen the church’s internal systems, ministries, and community impact.
Key Responsibilities
Ministry Leadership & Pastoral Support
- Translate the vision of the Senior Pastor and Board of Deacons into actionable ministry strategies
- Develop and support innovative ministries that foster discipleship, fellowship, and spiritual growth
- Evaluate ministry effectiveness and support strategic planning
- Assist in worship leadership, teaching, and pastoral care (hospital/home visits, special services)
- Coordinate Sunday worship experiences and special services
- Represent the church in community and denominational settings
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Lead and promote mission and service opportunities for all age groups
- Build partnerships with local churches, nonprofits, and colleges
- Strengthen engagement with the surrounding community and Metropolitan Village
- Educate and mobilize the congregation for local, national, and global missions
Staff Leadership & Church Operations
- Supervise and develop church staff and ministry leaders
- Oversee human resource functions including hiring, onboarding, and performance management
- Foster a healthy, collaborative staff culture
- Ensure effective communication across all levels of the church
- Manage church operations, various management systems, and processes for efficiency and excellence
- Provide oversight of facilities, including maintenance, safety, and space utilization
- Coordinate leasing and building use in accordance with church policies
- Support financial stewardship by aligning ministry budgets with church resources
- Lead conflict resolution efforts with wisdom and grace

Professional & Leadership Experience
- Proven leadership experience in a church, nonprofit, or organizational setting
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively with attention to detail
- Experience recruiting, developing, and leading teams and volunteers

- Strong verbal, written, and digital communication abilities

Education & Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or equivalent preferred
- Ordination (or willingness to pursue ordination) preferred
- Demonstrated business and financial management acumen

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
