California Freight is seeking an experienced Truck Shop Mechanic in Sparks Nevada. This is a Long-term, full-time position available in Sparks, Nevada. Equipment is primarily Peterbilt tractors, food-grade tankers, port/rail chassis, yard goats and dry vans.

Job Requirements:
Truck Shop Mechanic – Sparks, NV
The shift available is Sunday through Thursday day shift, 4:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pay will be up to $30.00 per hour depending on experience.
Requirements:
- Experienced Mechanic for Truck Shop in Sparks, Nevada.
- Welding experience required
- Valid driver license
- Able to trouble shoot electrical, air and mechanical issues, change tires and do 90-day DOT required services
- Maintains own tools
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to work 10 hour shift – Shift is Sunday through Thursday day shift
Job Duties:
- Perform required maintenance services on fleet tractors and trailers. (electrical, tire changes, minor mechanical repair, welding)
- Required to perform some of the work in the field travelling from Sparks shop to DFA in Fallon and to Model Dairy
- Perform tractor and trailer PM services as required by DOT 49 CFR 396.
- Complete written PM inspection forms.
- Maintain written repair orders to include labor hours, parts used and comments.
- Perform lot checks to verify equipment condition.
- Operate class A vehicles in yard conditions, move fleet equipment safely around yard and into and out of service facility. (Class A CDL a plus)
- Operate basic shop tools to include; welders, torches, impact wrenches, band saw, ladders and other equipment.
