GRO Facility Child Care Giver (Direct Care Service)
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Child Care Givers to provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for children in a residential child-care setting. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and personal growth of children through active supervision, positive engagement, and individualized support. Child Care Givers work collaboratively with other team members to implement service plans, encourage healthy development, and create a structured, caring environment where children can thrive.
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution, or documentation verifying high school equivalency through homeschooling.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Reliable personal vehicle and proof of current automobile insurance (transporting children is required).
- Ability to pass all required background checks, drug screening, and pre-employment requirements.

Essential Responsibilities Child Supervision & Safety
- Provide continuous supervision of children assigned to your care.
- Ensure children remain within appropriate sight and/or sound supervision based on age and individual needs.
- Monitor children's activities and intervene promptly to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain a safe, clean, structured, and nurturing living environment.
Individualized Care & Development
- Learn and respond to each child's unique habits, interests, strengths, and support needs.
- Implement individualized service plans and therapeutic interventions as directed.
- Encourage age-appropriate independence, life skills, and positive decision-making.
- Reinforce positive behaviors while providing consistent structure and guidance.
Communication & Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, families, medical professionals, schools, and other service providers.
- Provide thorough shift-to-shift communication regarding children's activities, behaviors, concerns, and progress.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and case planning as required.
Activities & Community Involvement
- Supervise recreational, educational, and community activities.
- Ensure children understand expectations and safety procedures while participating in off-site activities.
- Maintain communication regarding children's whereabouts and expected return times.
Documentation
- Ability to complete accurate and timely daily progress notes and required documentation.
- Record observations, incidents, and behavioral information in accordance with agency policies and licensing requirements.
- Ensure all records are signed, dated, and completed according to established standards.
Overnight Care
- Provide appropriate supervision during overnight shifts and overnight visits.
- Ensure children's physical, emotional, and medical needs are met throughout the shift.
- Follow all agency procedures regarding overnight care and emergency preparedness.
Transportation
- Safely transport children to and from school, appointments, family visits, recreational activities, and other approved locations using your personal vehicle.
- Ensure every child is properly secured with seat belts or appropriate child restraints.
- Follow all traffic laws and agency transportation policies.
- Account for every child before, during, and after transportation.
Emergency Response
- Respond appropriately to emergencies involving children in care.
- Follow agency emergency procedures and report incidents promptly.
- Provide immediate assistance until emergency personnel or supervisors arrive when necessary.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift children or equipment as needed.
- Ability to remain alert and attentive throughout the shift.
- Ability to respond quickly during emergency situations.
- Ability to participate in indoor and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment
This position is based in a residential child-care setting where caregivers provide direct supervision and support to children 24 hours a day. Work schedules may include evenings, weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, and on-call responsibilities. Team members should be flexible and committed to providing consistent, quality care whenever scheduled.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
