Job Overview
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver (CDL A) to join our growing logistics team. This position focuses on hauling cement pipe with a consistent and predictable workload, including a dedicated route from Chicago to Indianapolis, along with local runs. This is a Monday–Friday position, early morning, ideal for drivers looking for steady work and home time.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and experienced in handling flatbed freight, including proper securement techniques such as strapping and chaining.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed to transport cement pipe and related materials
- Complete a consistent regional route (Chicago to Indianapolis) along with local deliveries
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Properly secure loads using straps, chains, and other required equipment
- Capture clear photos of loads before departure and after delivery to document condition and ensure freight integrity during transit
- Plan routes efficiently while accounting for traffic, weather, and road conditions
- Load and unload freight as needed, ensuring safe handling at all times
- Maintain accurate logs, including mileage, fuel usage, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding schedules, delays, or issues
- Follow all local, state, and federal DOT regulations
- Represent the company professionally during all pickups and deliveries
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A) required
- Proven experience 2yr+ operating flatbed or tractor-trailer trucks preferred
- Strong knowledge of load securement (strapping & chaining)
- Experience with manual transmission is a plus
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and freight handling procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent work schedules
- Clean MVR record
- No driving violations in the past 3yrs
