Job Summary
The Purchasing Coordinator plays a critical role in overseeing the procurement process within the organization. This position is responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies that align with the company's goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in supply chain management, vendor management, and contract negotiation to ensure the acquisition of high-quality materials and services at competitive prices.
Duties
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies that optimize supply chain efficiency.
- Procure materials, supplies, and services necessary for operations.
- Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Conduct sourcing activities to identify potential vendors and evaluate their capabilities.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan timely purchases accordingly.
- Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to procurement activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in purchasing, preferably in a construction environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, writing PO's and CO's.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess supplier performance effectively.
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
This position is essential for maintaining the organization's operational efficiency through effective purchasing practices and supplier relationships.
Permitting Coordinator Duties
- Explain and interpret permitting policies and procedures to customers.
- Assist with checking and responding to local government permitting emails.
- Schedule, cancel or reschedule inspections in the permitting system.
- Coordinate with local ARB/ ARC to submit required documents
- Responsible for keeping the procedure manual up to date and provide input to manager for updating the unit procedure manual, when necessary.
- Other building/permitting coordinator functions assigned by supervisor or manager.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
