Home Daily Truck Driver | Lubbock, Texas | Doubles/Triples Endorsement (T) Required
Summary: TexDel, Inc is a Service Provider for FedEx Corporation. We are looking for an experienced driver (CDL Class A with T) to staff designated routes in region from Lubbock, Texas, and back. Home daily. No touch freight. Requires 5 shifts a week. Assigned routes subject to change.
Compensation (paid weekly)
- 2698 miles at $0.57/mile to start
- $0.58/mile after introductory period
- Safety bonus of $150/month if meet eligibility requirements. Starts after one full month of service.
- Spot pay for scheduled short deliveries
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts on occasion
Schedule (subject to change): Afternoon, evening departures
MONDAY-Fort Worth 634 miles
TUESDAY OFF
WED -Cisco and 3 spots: 510 miles + $70 spot pay
THURS-Cisco and 1 spot: 410 miles+$25 spot pay
FRI-Cisco and 3 spots: 510 miles + $70 spot pay
SAT-OFF
SUN-Fort Worth 634 miles
2698 TOTAL MILES x $0.57 + $165 SPOT PAY=$1702.86 gross/week
Responsibilities
- Transport packages to FedEx regional hub in Fort Worth or butt-head location in Cisco or other designated spots (No loading or unloading of freight required)
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
- Document activity with electronic log
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Operate dolly to connect trailers
- Collect and verify delivery instructions
- Report defects, accidents, or violations
- Manage routes in efficient manner
- Drop and pick-up loaded and/or empty trailers
- Take on additional route/s during holiday peak season
Skills:
- Hands-on experience with electronic log equipment
- Ability to drive tractor and doubles long hours and travel up to six nights a week during peak holiday season
- Ability to maneuver, connect, and disconnect trailers and dolly
- Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc)
- Clean driving record, with no DOT reportable accident in the last 12 months and no more than 2 in the last three years.
- Professional, respectful communication in daily work interactions
- Valid truck driving license: CDL A with T (Doubles/Triples endorsement)
Physical Demands: Climb in and out of tractor using three points of contact, safely maneuver dolly equipment, connect and disconnect trailers
Experience REQUIREMENT: One full year driving a tractor trailer in the last three years (36 months prior to date of application) or six months driving a tractor trailer in the last three years with qualifying training program, or five full years in last 10 years.* ****Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS.
Application Process: Selected candidates will be invited via email to kick off a background screen/employment verification through First Advantage. Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check (10 year history), and road test. Candidates must hold current DOT medical certificate. First Advantage must be able to verify 12 full months of experience driving a tractor with a trailer in the last 36 months (or 6 full months with appropriate training or 5 years in the last 10 years).
