Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claim procedures, and coding systems. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, managing revenue cycle activities, and ensuring timely reimbursement from health insurance providers. Your expertise in medical coding, billing software, and health insurance policies will be vital in maintaining efficient financial operations and supporting high-quality patient care.
Duties
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines such as CPT/ICD 10 coding, and modifiers.
- Review medical records and documentation to verify the accuracy of diagnoses and procedures for proper billing and coding.
- Manage the entire revenue cycle process, including patient billing, insurance follow-up, collections, and resolving claim denials or rejections.
- Accurately post insurance and patient payments to accounts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, third-party billing requirements, and medical coding standards to optimize claim acceptance rates.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation aligns with medical coding guidelines for services.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and implement strategies to expedite collections while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently for electronic health record management related to billing and coding activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical billing within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT codes, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in billing software applications and EMR/EHR systems used for electronic health record management.
- In-depth understanding of health insurance claim processing, third-party reimbursement procedures, and revenue cycle management.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical coding guidelines
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries or issues.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
