Full-Time Line Cook / Kitchen Cook
We are hiring a responsible and reliable full-time Line Cook / Kitchen Cook to join our kitchen team at a Japanese izakaya-style restaurant in San Mateo.
This position is mainly responsible for preparing and cooking appetizers, fried items, ramen, donburi, rice dishes, and other hot kitchen items. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently, follow recipes and kitchen standards, keep the station clean, and work well with the team during busy service hours.
Pay:Starting pay is $20.00 per hour.Performance-based bonus may be available after training based on reliability, speed, consistency, teamwork, cleanliness, and ability to follow kitchen standards.

Expected Hours:35–40 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients and set up the cooking station before service
- Cook appetizers, fried items, ramen, donburi, rice dishes, and other hot food items
- Follow recipes, portion standards, plating standards, and restaurant procedures
- Keep the kitchen station clean, organized, and fully stocked during service
- Work with kitchen team members to complete orders quickly and accurately
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures
- Help with prep work, cleaning, restocking, and closing duties when needed
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of restaurant kitchen or line cook experience required
- Hot kitchen, fryer, grill, ramen, Japanese, or Asian restaurant experience is a plus
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Reliable, responsible, and able to follow kitchen standards
- Able to stand for long periods and work during busy service hours
- Able to work evenings, weekends, and late-night shifts
- Able to commute reliably to San Mateo, CA 94401
- Food Handler Card preferred or willingness to obtain one

- Some shifts may end late depending on business hours
