We’re looking for a Controller who wants to do more than close books. This role will help build the financial systems, reporting structure, and operational discipline that support our next phase of growth.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional back-office accounting role.
You’ll work directly with ownership and leadership to improve financial visibility across the company, strengthen reporting, implement better processes, and help guide strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with operational thinking, systems orientation, and a desire to build.
Responsibilities
Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting
Manage general ledger, reconciliations, AP, AR, and accounting workflows
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
Build location-level P&L reporting and performance tracking
Oversee inventory accounting and flooring liabilities
Monitor trailer costs, margins, and profitability reporting
Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Establish internal controls and accounting procedures
Work closely with operations leadership to improve financial visibility
Assist with lender, banking, insurance, and audit relationships
Support future system implementations and process improvements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of accounting experience
Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager experience preferred
Strong understanding of financial statements and GAAP principles
Experience with inventory-based businesses strongly preferred
Experience with multi-location operations preferred
Strong Excel and financial analysis skills
Experience with QuickBooks and modern business systems
Proven reliability, integrity, discretion, and sound judgment
Ability to thrive in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you will:
Deliver timely and accurate monthly financial reporting
Improve cash flow visibility across the organization
Standardize accounting processes across locations
Establish meaningful KPIs for store performance
Strengthen inventory and profitability reporting
Help create the financial infrastructure required for continued expansion
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
