Veteran Health Network connects veterans with independent licensed physicians for comprehensive in-person medical evaluations and documentation. We are building a national network and are currently adding one physician per state.
This is a partnership, not a job. You are not our employee and we are not your practice manager. You keep your practice, your patients, and your judgment. We bring you prepared veterans and pay you directly for the visit.
We are looking specifically for established direct primary care and cash-pay practices. If you already operate outside insurance, this fits how you work.
We are not a claims firm. We do not prepare, file, or prosecute VA claims, and we do not direct clinical practice. Your findings are yours.
What the work is
Every encounter is in person at your practice. A comprehensive evaluation within your licensed scope, not limited to the presenting complaint. ICD-10 coded diagnoses at the most specific level the evidence supports. Objective physical measurement where clinically relevant: range of motion, strength grading, physical testing. Functional limitation documented in measurable terms. A written summary within five business days.
Where VA Disability Benefits Questionnaire forms are included in the pre-appointment packet, you complete them. The DBQ is the format your findings are recorded in, not extra paperwork stacked on top of a separate summary.
Where the clinical evidence independently supports one and the veteran asks for it, you may write a nexus opinion. You decide whether one is appropriate. You will never be asked to produce anything you would not stand behind professionally, and your pay is identical whether you write one or decline.
Veterans arrive prepared. We compile service history, records, and intake in advance. We handle scheduling, billing, and coordination. There is no administrative work on your end and no records to chase.
What this is not
We are not a nexus letter shop and not a DBQ mill. We do not ask for a diagnosis, we do not ask for an opinion, and we do not review or approve your clinical conclusions. No accredited representative will ever contact you about a veteran's documentation. If one tries, you decline it and tell us. Medicine first. The documentation is the byproduct of doing the evaluation properly.
What we pay
$200 per initial evaluation. $130 per follow-up. Paid directly by us, not by the patient and not by any insurer. Your rate does not vary based on what you find. An evaluation that identifies nothing new is a complete engagement at the same fee.
How the partnership works
No exclusivity. No volume minimums. No sales obligation. You tell us when you are at capacity and we stop sending veterans until you say otherwise. Your own practice, including any membership model you sell, runs exactly as it does now.
What you need to have
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in the state where you practice
- Valid NPI
- Current professional liability insurance
- Not excluded under 42 U.S.C. 1320a-7 and not federally debarred
- An operating direct primary care or cash-pay practice
- A physical practice location where you see patients in person
- Ability to perform and document objective physical measurement
- Ability to deliver written clinical documentation within five business days
Preferred
- Experience treating veterans
- Familiarity with VA Disability Benefits Questionnaire forms and nexus opinion standards, including the "at least as likely as not" threshold
Pay: $130.00 - $200.00 per hour
