About the Role
We are seeking a technically strong Sales Engineer with a degree in Engineering to join our growing team in Smyrna, GA. This is a client-facing engineering sales role that requires a true engineering background and the ability to understand complex manufacturing equipment, customer applications, and technical solutions.
This is NOT an entry-level sales role. Candidates must have a strong engineering foundation and be comfortable discussing technical concepts with customers, manufacturing teams, and leadership.
The first 3 months are fully hands-on and on-site, learning the machines, manufacturing processes, products, and internal operations through direct exposure, manuals, training videos, and collaboration across departments.

Additional Must-Haves
- Proven experience in sales
- Strong technical aptitude and engineering understanding
- Ability to learn complex machinery and manufacturing processes
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
- Professional demeanor, curiosity, and eagerness to learn
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications
- Plastics industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with manufacturing equipment or industrial machinery
- Hands-on Salesforce CRM experience
- Experience supporting technical customers or manufacturing operations
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow existing customer accounts
- Develop strong customer relationships and identify upsell opportunities
- Deliver technical sales presentations and product demonstrations
- Analyze sales trends, market data, and customer requirements
- Support strategic sales planning and business growth initiatives
- Represent the company at trade shows and industry events
- Negotiate deals aligned with company goals
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams, Sales Coordinators, and HQ
- Provide customer feedback and market insights to R&D teams
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends
