This position is based at our Hampton Farms location in Severn, NC.
Position Overview:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient operation of the warehouse, including the receipt, storage, inventory management, and distribution of product. The manager ensures that all warehouse activities align with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards. This role involves managing warehouse staff, optimizing processes, and coordinating closely with production, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure the seamless flow of products. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
This position is located in Northeastern North Carolina area.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of finished goods.
- Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain a high level of efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Coordinate with production and quality control teams to ensure products meet all required specifications before storage and shipment.
- Manage inventory levels to ensure accurate and up-to-date records, minimizing waste and optimizing stock levels.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse, adhering to safety standards.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of warehouse workers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, safety, and adherence to company policies.
- Conduct regular meetings with staff to communicate goals, expectations, and updates on warehouse operations.
Logistics Coordination:
- Coordinate with logistics and transportation teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective distribution of products.
- Oversee the loading and unloading of shipments, ensuring proper handling and documentation of goods.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.
Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and other relevant standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of warehouse processes and facilities to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues related to product quality, storage conditions, or safety.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking the movement of products in and out of the warehouse.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) or other tools to monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement within warehouse operations and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve safety.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and emerging technologies that could benefit warehouse operations.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow and resource utilization.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in warehouse management, logistics, or safety (e.g., HACCP, WMS certification) are a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in a food processing or agricultural environment.
- Proven experience managing teams in a fast-paced warehouse setting.
- Experience handling NetSuite procedures
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures, including cold storage areas.
Work Environment:
- The role is primarily based in a warehouse environment with occasional office work.
- May require working outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet production and shipping deadlines.
