Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor Fitter Alteration Specialist to join our dynamic fashion retail team. Responsibilities
- Conduct fittings with clients to assess their needs and determine necessary alterations for optimal fit and comfort
- Perform clothing alterations including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, adjusting waistlines, and resizing garments with precision
- Use sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machines to execute alterations efficiently and accurately
- Operate pressing machines and press garments to achieve a professional finish that meets quality standards
- Select appropriate fabric materials and stitches based on garment type and customer preferences
- Assist in garment construction or modification for custom apparel production, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly about alteration processes, timelines, and care instructions
Requirements
- Proven experience in fashion retail, clothing alterations, or garment sewing with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Knowledge of fabric materials, stitching techniques, and garment construction principles
- Proficiency in operating sewing machines, pressing machines, and press operation tools
- Skilled in hand sewing and basic math for measurements and adjustments
- Familiarity with men's wear tailoring, women's wear tailoring, and custom apparel production processes
- Ability to interpret customer requests accurately and deliver tailored solutions efficiently
- Strong attention to detail, steady hand-eye coordination, and excellent problem-solving skills
