Duties
- Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical diagnostics, mechanical systems, refrigeration issues, and plumbing components using hand tools and specialized diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Read schematics and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting to identify faults quickly and efficiently restore system functionality.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs and inspections for compliance and quality assurance.
- Assist in system upgrades or modifications to improve energy efficiency and system performance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during every interaction.
Requirements
- Proven construction experience combined with service technician expertise in HVAC/R systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in HVAC system repair, installation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, electrical systems diagnostics, refrigeration techniques, plumbing basics, and building automation systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools effectively; welding skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is advantageous; valid EPA certification required for refrigerant handling.
- Experience with electrical diagnostics using tools like ohmmeters; ability to troubleshoot electrical systems thoroughly.
- Mechanical systems repair experience including boilers, appliances, property maintenance tasks, and equipment troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver certification preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to field service challenges.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in diverse environments; willingness to learn new technologies such as building automation controls.
