Primary Therapist – PHP/IOP Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program
Engage Wellness Wisconsin is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Therapist to join our outpatient treatment team. We provide Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health disorders, and dual diagnoses. We are looking for professionals who are passionate about helping individuals achieve lasting recovery while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Education & Licensure Requirements Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related behavioral health field.
- Wisconsin Substance Abuse Counselor credential or Mental Health license in good standing, including one or more of the following:
- SAC-IT (Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training)
- SAC (Substance Abuse Counselor)
- CSAC (Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor)
- CSAC-IT (Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor-In Training)
- LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
- LPC-IT (Licensed Professional Counselor-In Training)
- LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
- APSW (Advanced Practice Social Worker)
- CAPSW (Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker)
- LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)
- LMFT-IT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-In Training)
Preferred:
- Experience working with Substance Use Disorders (SUD), Co-Occurring Disorders, Mental Health, and Dual Diagnosis populations.
- Experience facilitating group therapy in PHP, IOP, residential, or outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
- Lead psychoeducational groups focused on recovery, relapse prevention, coping skills, and mental wellness.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and treatment plan reviews.
- Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as clinically indicated.
- Coordinate care with referral sources, family members, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Assist clients with discharge planning and connection to community resources.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with Wisconsin DHS regulations, Medicaid requirements, and organizational policies.
- Respond appropriately to crisis situations and coordinate interventions as needed.
- Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards of practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Pay: $69,639.17 - $83,866.53 per year
