Overview
Kerlan-Jobe Surgery Center (KJSC), a premier orthopedic outpatient surgery center in Los Angeles, is seeking a Preoperative / PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our fast-paced, team-oriented Ambulatory Surgery Center in Los Angeles.
This role provides direct patient care in both the preoperative and recovery phases, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care in accordance with California regulations and AAAHC standards.
The center is open Monday through Friday (closed on weekends). Our primary specialties of focus are sports medicine, total joint replacement, orthopedic spine, foot and ankle, hand, and pain management procedures.
What you'll do:
Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout the preoperative and recovery phases of surgery. Responsibilities include performing pre-op assessments, starting IVs, administering medications, and ensuring all required documentation and safety checks are completed prior to surgery.
In PACU, you will monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, perform and document physical assessments and vital signs, communicate any abnormal findings to the care team, and deliver clear post-operative education to patients and their families to ensure safe discharge.
You will also support patient safety and quality initiatives, maintain HIPAA compliance, and contribute to an organized clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered California RN License (required)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced surgical environment

Salary Range: $54.00 - $58.00
In compliance with California law, the posted range reflects the hiring range reasonably expected for this position. Placement within the range is based on experience, qualifications, and operational needs.
