Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while handling transactions efficiently. You will play a key role in creating a positive shopping experience, assisting customers with their needs, and promoting our products.
Responsibilities
- Operate the cash register and process customer transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries.
- Demonstrate product knowledge and assist in product demos to enhance customer understanding and satisfaction.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products and services to customers.
- Maintain an organized checkout area, ensuring it is stocked with necessary supplies.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring accuracy in basic math calculations.
- Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a smooth workflow and positive environment within the grocery store.
Experience
- Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with cash registers and POS systems is a plus.
- Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions accurately.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Experience in sales or upselling techniques is beneficial but not required.
- A background in grocery store operations or retail is advantageous.
