Position Overview:
The Employment Specialist works directly with adults with disabilities or other barriers to employment. This role focuses on helping individuals prepare for, secure, and maintain successful employment through coaching, advocacy, and community collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site job coaching and employment support using person-centered and evidence-based practices.
- Build positive, professional relationships with clients, families, employers, and community partners.
- Follow employment plans and program requirements, including those tied to specific contracts or funding sources.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including case notes, progress updates, mileage, and expenses.
- Promote workplace success through accountability, encouragement, and guidance tailored to each client’s needs.
- Serve as a liaison between the employer and the client to foster inclusive work environments and mutual success.
- Protect client confidentiality and adhere to RTAS policies and ethical standards.

- Technologically proficient, especially with basic computer and documentation systems
- Able to receive direction and apply feedback constructively

- Experience teaching or coaching individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines

Qualifications
Required:
- Two or more years of related experience in social services or communications and marketing, an associate’s degree in social services or a related field, or a combination of experience and education may also fulfill this requirement.
- Must have a reliable form of transportation to visit job sites and meet with employers.
- Must possess a good driving record and proof of current driver's license and insurance.
- Must satisfy a background check and comply with the company's drug-free workplace policy.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, especially in job development or coaching
- Familiarity with DVR and DDA systems
- Comfortable with Apple products and Mac computers
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Duties are performed in both office settings and community job sites
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, bend, kneel, or reach for periods throughout the day
- May occasionally work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, or physical demands
- May require PPE such as masks or gloves, depending on the worksite
