This position is for an elderly woman who is in need of cleaning, assistance with medication, meal prep, running errands and taking her to medical appointments. The hours for this person are Tuesday-Friday 10am-5pm, and one Sunday per month also from 10-5pm. Serious inquiries only.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manage safe transfer techniques to prevent injury
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, observations, and progress in compliance with healthcare standards
- Engage in patient observation to identify potential issues early and communicate effectively with healthcare teams for appropriate interventions
Requirements
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes; experience with dementia, Alzheimer’s, or memory care is highly valued
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and ability to assist with ADLs using proper safety protocols
- Certification or training in CPR and First Aid; familiarity with HIPAA regulations is essential
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed
- Working knowledge of medication administration, care plans, and patient documentation practices
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or overnight hours as required
