American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with at least 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois.

Work in a diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab at a 562-bed, Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital
-
Middle and older adult patient population
-
Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, rotablator atherectomy, cardiac stent placement, cardiac implant closure device, and IABP placement/removal
-
Responsibilities include scrubbing to maintain sterile field, room circulating, equipment setup, and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

Charting in Cerner (experience required)
-
4x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM; 3x12-hour schedule may also be available
-
Will work 2–3 weekends per contract

On-call is required on a rotating basis shared with staff and agency; call frequency is flexible based on census and will be discussed with the manager

No floating required

No IR responsibilities

Contract length is 13 or 26 weeks (your choice)

Parking is available at no cost with a permit obtained during orientation

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a cardiac cath lab setting
-
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CCI RCIS; ARRT (R) preferred
-
Active Illinois license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)

Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab procedures including IABP, PCI, PTCA, rotablator atherectomy, and stent placement
-
Experience with sterile technique, isolation precautions, and scrub responsibilities
-
Ability to recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias
-
Cerner EMR experience required
-
AHA or Red Cross certifications accepted; RQI cards are not accepted

SSN and DOB required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Travelers are required to float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate facility
-
Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
-
RTO is ideally limited to no more than 5 days per contract
-
Previous permanent or PRN employees of this hospital system must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility

Orientation begins with a virtual, at-home day; required modules must be completed by 4:00 PM CST on Day 1
