Lead Toddler Teacher

The Nook South Loop is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Lead Toddler Teacher who has a genuine passion for early childhood education. This position is responsible for leading a classroom of toddlers between 16 and 24 months old and creating a safe, loving, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing care to toddlers ages 16–24 months.
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and learning experiences.
- Support children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
- Follow classroom schedules and daily routines, including meals, diapering, naps, and transitions.
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with families, coworkers, and center leadership.
- Document children’s daily activities, developmental progress, and important updates.
- Work collaboratively with the assistant teacher and other members of the center.
- Follow all center policies and DCFS licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Must have a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or possess a current Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.
- Previous experience working with toddlers in a licensed childcare setting is strongly preferred.
- Must be dependable, patient, nurturing, organized, and professional.
- Must be able to lead a classroom and work effectively as part of a team.
- Must have strong communication and classroom-management skills.
- Must be able to meet all required background check, health, and training requirements.
